Planned with accurate intricacies, the palace is divided into a series of courtyards, buildings and gardens. The architectural style of the City Palace is a fusion of the Shilpa Shastra along with Rajput, Mughal and European styles.

The Palace was built using red and pink sandstone and has three gates, namely ‘Tripolia Gate’, ‘Udai Pol’, ‘Virendra Pol’. The striking courtyards, lush green gardens, splendid edifices and meticulous stonework make the Palace a perfect blend of design, art, colour and culture.

The Instruments here pertain to Egypt’s Ptolemaic astronomy and follow three classical celestial coordinates to track the positions of heavenly bodies.

This Observatory also houses the world’s largest sundial. These instruments still work as well and accurately as before and have withstood the ravages of time.
